Law Enforcement Community Remembrance
May 7, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The Law Enforcement Community Remembrance Event will take place at the SafeKeepers Shrine at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
From 5-6pm, families are invited to interact with officers from all of the York County Departments, as well as the York County Sheriff’s Department. In addition to the vehicle and equipment displays from various departments and the York County Quick Response Team, the York County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit will offer demonstrations and children’s fingerprinting. Face painting and balloon twisting for the kids, as well as refreshments, will be provided free of charge by many local vendors, including Bricker’s Famous French Fries and Mission BBQ.
At 6pm, a Memorial Ceremony will honor the York County Police Officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. (7) local officers will be honored, specifically Officer Alex Sable, of the York City Police Department (EOW – May 9, 2018). The York County Pipes and Drums and Sgt. Brian Wilbur (bugler) will provide musical accompaniment for the program, along with local recording artist, Dave Bray USA, who will perform the National Anthem, and his song, “Last Call”, during the ceremony.
Bring the whole family – ample parking is available! Please use the Pennsylvania Ave. entrance to the cemetery.
